About us

Ar2day Gallery was founded in 2009 by Ildikó Benkő, who had previously spent 15 years working in the fields of design and interior decoration. In response to the 2008 financial crisis, she decided to establish an art gallery with a profile similar to contemporary commercial galleries that largely cover the American and Western European markets—one that, in addition to art lovers and collectors, also maintains close relationships with designers, interior decorators and interior architects.

The gallery’s aim is to make highly trained Hungarian contemporary artists with distinctive, individual styles more widely known and to bring them closer to the public. Their works are purchased not only as investments, but also for their aesthetic qualities and their ability to complement a variety of interiors.

Artists such as Gábor Krüzsely, Olga Kondratska, Levente Molnár, Zsuzsa Szvath, Ferenc Uzonyi, Naomi Devil, Zoltán Fodor-Lengyel, Júlia Végh, Minro and Zoltán Lonovics are known for their unique, distinctive and recognizable styles, and their circle of collectors continues to grow.

In 2014, the gallery moved to 2 Szalay Street in Budapest’s 5th district, and in January 2026, its new exhibition space opened at 18 Stollár Béla Street, which can be visited by prior appointment.

The paintings and sculptures displayed in the public spaces of the Kempinski Hotel Budapest were originally purchased from the gallery. In collaboration with the hotel, Ar2day Gallery has been organizing the Kempinski Art Soirées four times a year since 2013. After each vernissage, an exhibition by one of the gallery’s artists is displayed on the hotel’s Promenade for three months.

The exhibitions have been opened by distinguished figures such as Kata Oltai, Zoltán Rockenbauer, Krisztina Üveges, Dénes P. Szabó, Júlia Bacsek, Péter Antalffy and Richárd Kosinszky.
